Myrtle Beals (or Mrs. B as she was also known) will be celebrated in a service today.
Myrtle passed away last Sunday, and she will be sorely missed by her family, her church, and generations of campers at Camp Wightman. Myrtle was a long-time servant at Camp Wightman, serving as waterfront director for many years and then, following that, as Dining Hall hostess where she dispensed hugs and shared her wisdom over many summers. Together with her late husband, Gordon Beals (Mr. B), she came to represent Camp Wightman to many people. She was not only present in the summers but at work weekends throughout the year, with her church and her family.
Her loving legacy will be celebrated this morning at the Bridge Community Church (formerly the Bristol Baptist Church) at 11am. With thanks to God for such a servant, we keep her family in our prayers.
Her obituary can be found here.
